Okay, so now the summer is over for all practical purposes (unless you live down around Florida’s latitude…probably be hot down here ’til March!). Most of you folks in the USA are, by now, getting bombarded by the media outlets’ talk of politics and elections and voter dissatisfaction.
I ask one thing of you all. Think about what people are telling you. Especially when they speak of those “polls” where the talking heads say “Most people…blah..blah..blah…”. Stop and ask yourself…how can they say “most” people? Did they really ask most people? Do you know a few people who’ve been asked? Really? Recently? About this?
Ask yourself this…who did the asking, what was asked and how did they go about deciding who to ask. I’m just saying…because everytime I hear one of those heads blabbering about some poll I always think…
“Sh*t, no one asked me..hmmph!”
So please fellow citizens, don’t let them play you. Free your minds then use it. Vote intelligently. Check this out. Earlier today (labor day) on CNN the host reported that some poll showed that most Americans are unhappy with the economy and mad at the President for how he’s handled it so far. Personally I feel if it took nearly a decade for it to tank, why should people expect it to get better in a fraction of the time? I mean the economy has been wobbly since 2001 (remember “Go Shopping”?)
Then the reporter stated that on top of that, most (here we go) Americans blamed Republicans for the problems the country is facing. The icing on the cake was applied when he stated that when “most” people were asked who would they be likely to vote for during this election season they replied (get this) Republican.
Okay maybe its me…but the math don’t seem to add up so to speak.
Am I to believe that the voting public is that “slow” that they would turn around and vote in the exact political party they blame for creating this economic mess?
Let me ask any of you this:
Let’s say you are walking along some city sidewalk. It’s a beautiful day. Springlike. Birds are chirping…lots of hustle and bustle all about. Now, if someone came along and suddenly just knocked the living doodoo out of you and you were suddenly transported back in time say 10 minutes prior to the event with your memory intact. Would you blindly walk right back into that fist or would you look real hard at the next person coming down the street?
Like I said, you’ve been warned. The money smells funny to me. So think about what’s going on. Who’s been doing what and how. Then do what you do. I know what I’m doing. I’m not hearing the twisty talkers on TV. I for one will not be hopping over the fence into a pit bull’s yard with a pork chop tied to my butt.
Oh yeah…I added a new set too. Music to get your head together with yanno? Very eclectic set..thought I’d make it easy for those of you cubicle residents. Let’s see… Kool & The Gang, Nasrat Fateh Ali-Khan, Deep Forest, Jazzanova, Table 4 5ive. Kmotiv, DJ Spinna, Mark Ledford, Pete Rock, Eva Navrot, Buju Banton, Quant, George Benson, Weather Report, DJ Scissorkicks, Jill Scott, The Gap Band, A Tribe Called Quest, Rhonda Smith, Waiwan, Platinum Pied Pipers, Gotan Project, Anita Baker, Liquid Spirits, Tease, Bob Marley, Wayne Fire, Trakheadz, Marques Wyatt, Ad Finem, Tony Bonilla, Roland Clark, Spettro and many more…
Remember…(to paraphrase a classic funkadelic cut)
Free Your Mind so you know Who’s Ass Not To Follow!
Peace,
DJ
