Today, after yesterday’s revelations about the condition of my car’s drivetrain, I’d really rather be skating about now… I used to skate. For hours a day when I live up in NYC. I would sometimes skate from lower Manhattan up to 42nd Street and back down to the Battery very other day. I loved the feeling of rolling by watching the city move about. Every block was different. One night I skated the Brooklyn Bridge and (thankfully) avoided a serious mishap (keep to the right coming down on the Brooklyn side!!!) Since being in Florida, skating on the streets of town struck me as a tad toooo hazardous due to the seeming lack of driving skills too many motorists exhibit. Then there’s the heat… you can stand still in the shade and start sweating down here during the summer. But now it’s deep into fall and the weather is starting to cool. Time to think of where to roll as the bug seems to have returned! This is the set that I will be rolling to (among others) when I get back “out there”. I just have to find the right time and place as tree lined paths don’t quite do it for me. But then again, I may have to make an exception!
