This latest set turned out interesting.
Once again, I didn’t plan what I would play. Actually I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I started messing around. Next thing I know its daylight and I have over five hours of music blended. I listened to the mixes.
I have to say I think I need to wake up in the middle of the night more often! Somehow I get the feeling that the groove of the entire set expresses where I’d rather be versus where I am. It’s more of a driving beat kind of thing with some interesting interludes.
About an hour and a half in you’ll hit Marques Wyatt’s “For Those Who Like To Get Down“. I think you’ll find the blend that flows into “Love & Happiness” (River Ocean feat. India) and then into Sumo’s “Santiago Boys” off of the Bargrooves Cosmopolitan compilation very interesting. Keep an ear on the keyboards is all I’m saying. There are other triple mixes in the set too.
You will also hear Brother Jack McDuff and cuts by Angelique Kidjo, Miguel Migs, Cameo, US Collective, Jon Cutler, Limelife, Kim English, Jay Tripwire, Kludo, Angela Johnson, George Kranz (Din Daa Daa…remember that?), Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Ike “Black Liquid” Ngwaba, Fredrik Stark, Lisa Shaw, Kenny Dope and Chuck Diesel to name just a few.
Now I suspect a few of you might not know who some of these artists are. That’s cool. I didn’t either until I listened.
Stay You & Enjoy the Music! Gotta go!
