Okay so its time to renew the license that allows me to stream all of this good music to you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And, the price is steep.
As many of you all realize times are tight. With the online store not doing so well and other business entities of mine currently underperforming (sounds corporate huh?) I am facing a potential shutdown of the station.
Currently I am attempting to license a different setup with Live365. Emails have been sent and no response as of now. If no response soon its gonna have to be goodbye folks. So just in case…
First I want to thank my family and friends who’ve supported me.
I want to thank the anonymous listeners who would tune in for days on end in Tokyo, Amsterdam, Houston, London and Altoona PA. One listener was logged on for so long I feared the worse! Along these lines I of course want to thank all of the listeners located in over 76 countries who have taken the time to “drop in and listen a spell.”
I want to thank the Twitter, Facebook and MySpace peeps who have supported me throughout the past six years by tuning in.
I want to thank all of you independent artists who have placed your art in my hands so that the world can hear what you’ve created.
I want to even thank some of the spam-creeps who keep trying to hack this site. (I’m getting a bit tired of the work it takes to get the site back up…repeatedly).
I want to thank my fellow Live365 broadcasters who’ve lent support and advice when I needed it. Big thanks to Dianne of Solaceradio.
And most definitely I want to thank the one person who listened more than anyone on the planet:
Thank you most of all. She has heard (suffered through) every messed up mix, hear every technical snafu and has been dropped off the air when I would switch between live and prerecorded shows than anyone I know.
She’s always suggesting new music that she would somehow she would dig up and it would be some of the most amazing music I’ve ever heard.
This listener always had something positive to say when I admitted that at times she’d be the only one listening. So I want to give special thanks.
To a broadcaster the greatest compliment one can receive is people tuning in on the regular.
So what’s next? Well right now a 95 long set of mixes that have been done over the past 6 years is playing on the station while I work this out with Live365.com Assuming I get things straightened out I will update this post with the latest. If not … well my labor of love will go on hiatus for a (hopefully) short while. This site will remain up and I want you to keep in touch okay? Oh the store located @ www.cafepress.com/wbpm will be shut down on June 30th 2010. Buy something…it might help! 😉
(No.. thats not a picture of my gear…I have a roomfull!!)
